"You Are Gonna Turn Out Fine."

"Drop your worries."

------------

Day three, the word was "Cold"! Well, this picture kinda depicts cold. As it was -20 degrees when I took it! And I absolutely loved it so I couldn't NOT share! Trying out a new editing technique on the eyes and skin. Love how it looks!

"I Hope You Know..."

"That this has nothing to do with you."

--------------

Day two DONE! The word was "warm", so I took a picture of a scarf! Because scarves are warm, right? Well, like it or not, that's what ya get!

"She's Just a Girl, With a Dream."

"Her daddy said, 'Oh girl, you can do anything.'"

--------------

Okay. DAY ONE! Complete! Took me a while to get around to it. But here is my portrait! Only softening! No exposure or contrast editing! Can you believe it?! The light was incredible and the colors were perfect so, all in all, nice little shoot.

Fifty Days/One Word

I've got a little predicament. The problem is this. I AM SO STINKING TIRED OF WINTER PHOTOS. No creativity is flowing. So basically, everything I've taken recently... just flat out stinks.

So, to get me through the next little while (50 days to be exact), I have complied a photo challenge. Technically, I guess this would be one photo a day, but since I can pretty much guarantee that I'll forget/skip at least one or two days, we'll just say ABOUT a fifty day challenge.

Here's how it works. Each day has a word. Just one and using some imagination, I have to take a photo that the word applies to. Some will be no-brainers... other might take some thought. But, that's the gist, so we'll see how it goes!

1. Portrait
2. Warm
3. Cold
4. Growth
5. Shadows
6. Peace
7. Love
8. Defeat
9. Memory
10. Color

37. Over
38. Under
39. Light
40. Looking

"Do You See Things The Way I Do?"

"I won't let another minute go to waste."

-------------

I took this picture this last summer down on the river bed. Just a fire weed shoot, but I thought it looked kinda need with the rocks. And again, my new signature across the front. It makes me happy.

"I Don't Want My Love To Go To Waste."

"I want to be what you always needed."

-----------

Yeah, yeah. It's a picture from this summer. But hey, I can still post it! Doing this new thing with my signature. Pretty nifty, huh?

"It Seems So Long Ago..."

"That I, used to believe."

---------------

Actually, despite that it is another snowy tree/mountain shot, I really like this photograph. BUT, I will be much happier when summer finally decides to roll around. Some softening editing here, exposure, contrast. Little bit of everything.

"We'd Never Have to Wonder..."

"Take time to realize."

-------------

This is a shot I got of frost that has gathered on the outside of the house. I thought it looked pretty neat. Did a little bit of contrast editing here, but nothing major.

"When You Need Me..."

"I'll be there in a hurry."

-----------

View from the front yard. Pretty. Blue, blue, and more blue. Winter photos get so depressing. *sigh* Oh well. Little exposure upping and softening.

"Why is Everyone So Serious?"

"Money can't buy us happiness?"

-------------

Just a snowy tree and mountain. I really need summer to come. Or else I'm just going to suffocate my self with all these snowy tree and mountain pictures I've taken. Bleck. Minimal light editing.

"Believe in Ever After..."

"There is joy to be claimed in this world."

-------------

A little bit of craziness, even in photography, never hurt anybody! Which is why I like this picture. Little bit dorky, but very fun and very light. Matte editing again here. Same as previous photo.

"It May Only Be A Wish Away!"

"Story book endings, fairy tales coming true..."

-----------

So beautiful. So fun. So happy. So perfect! Definitely some editing here. Matte and light editing. Had to make everything look... Bright! I understand it may not be a very professional looking photograph... but hey! I'm not a professional.

"They Say I'm Better Off Now."

"Oh I wanted words but all I heard was nothing."

------------

Interesting perspective of a reindeer. I think antlers are absolutely beautiful, so this is what I got! Edited temperature and contrast.

"Back to the Place..."

"I don't regret this life I chose for me."

-------------

This is a shot of the Reindeer Farm and Butte from the fields. Kinda nice. Very blue. Oh how I hate photographing the Alaskan winters... Blargh. Edited contrast a little here and messed with making the temperature warmer.

"Well, I'm Going Home..."

"Back to place where I belong."

------------

Hm, well the composition isn't bad, but the graphics on this site do not flatter the photo. I did lower the saturation a bit to lean a little toward black & white.

"Buildings with a Hundred Floors..."

"Swinging 'round revolving doors."

------------

Found this old red brick chimney while running around Palmer and just HAD to stop to snap a few pictures. I really like the colors in this picture. Did a little exposure and contrast upping.

"Wanted to Belong Here..."

"But I won't forget the place I come from."

------------

Another photo of the lovely Jessica Owens! Again, just exposure editing here; really nothing much. The natural lighting was actually fairly good this day, so not alot of editing needed!

"Dreaming of What Could Be..."

"And if I'd end up happy."

----------

Oh, I just love this one! Kinda sad even, but I just LOVE the shot. One of my favorite portraits I've ever taken I believe. Only exposure editing here. Other than that, all natural!

"Don't Forget Me..."

"Nevermind, I'll find someone like you."

-----------

I'm not sure exactly what I think of this picture. I have mixed feelings; like and dislike. I did edit the lighting here, because it was just so dark, but other than that, nothin' much.

"I'll be Stronger..."

"Tomorrow, I'm gonna leave here."

-------------

This picture is kinda neat. Since the trees are so weighed down with the snow, I got beneath one of them and got this shot, hoping to catch the mountains in the background. This is what happened! I actually edited the temperature on this one to make it a little less blue. It's still got a bit of a cold hue, but that's alright.

"Tears Are Gonna Roll..."

"You had my heart inside your hand and you played it to the beat."

-------------

Would you take a look at those lashes?! She's a heart breaker; that's for sure. Anywho, another accidental shot that I kinda liked. Did some point softening and upped the contrast a tad. Not bad, not bad.

"In Another Life..."

"We keep all our promises; be us against the world."

-------------

There's so much snow that all the trees are hanging really low right now. This one caught my eye while I was feeding the horses up in the pasture. More mountains in the background. Just can't escape 'em here in Alaska! Minimal editing here; some softening, exposure, etc.

"Rollin' in the Deep..."

"It's bringing me out the dark."

-------------

My beautiful model is Jessica Owens on the violin. This shot was actually not meant to be artistic in anyway; we were just messing around. However, I absolutely LOVE the accidental shadow effect that somehow appeared on the right hand bottom corner of the picture and so I added a little softening... There you have it.

"It's Only Gonna Get Brighter, Brighter, Brighter..."

"The days are gonna get longer, the sun is gonna shine stronger!"

-------------

Well what do you know, another blue/gray winter mountain shot. As you can tell, I'm running out of subjects to shoot. No, no. I know, photographers should never think like that. BUT, I'm not gonna lie, it get's a little depressing! So here's what I got. Did some softening, exposure editing, etc. (lyrics used in title and caption taken from personal friend Jessica Owens)
