"You Don't Love Me Anymore..."

"Let it come down on me, let it rain down on me."

-------------

So this picture is a little different. I messed around with the clarity and upped it quite a bit to get a painting-like effect. It's kind of hard to see in small, so if you click on the photograph it'll enlarge it for you. Pretty interesting!

Heads Up

Just so you guys know...

The bandwidth on my computer is pretty much used up for the month of December, so I will not be able to upload any more photos until Jan. But that's only one week away! So look for some new pictures in a bit!

Thank y'all,

Ashleena Roberts

"It's a New World..."

"It's alive with the beating of young hearts."

-----------

This old gal is Bratterratt. She's been around for as long as I can remember! Little light editing here. Nothing too extreme.

"I Will Always Return..."

"'Cause my every road leads to you."

----------

Another picture of Borie. She's so purty! And she was posing nicely. Minimal light editing.

"Silhouette..."

"Nothing but a shadow..."

----------

Another picture of Zanzibar! He's so interesting to photograph because he shoots very dark, almost just a flat silhouette. Touch of light editing here.

"Look At This Photograph..."

"Every memory of looking out the back door..."

----------

This is the first portrait I've ever done indoors! It was during photography class while we were experimenting with my teacher's light set up. Lots of fun!

"Somethin's Watching Over Me Like Sweet Serendipity."

"I don't want to hold on, I want the strength to let go."

----------

This is a pic I got during my photography class while we were painting with light! Super, super fun and absolutely amazing shots! This one was my favorite though. No editing, except for of course my signature at the bottom.

"What's This Holding Me?"

"I gotta fight with all my might."

-----------

This handsome boy is Zanzibar! He was romping with Borie this morning; tearing up the pasture! Edited the exposure here and played with the contrast.

"You Can't Take Me, I'm Free."

"Never gonna give in, never gonna give it up..."

--------

This "cow-pony" is my girl Aurora Borealis! She was feelin' her oats this morning so I grabbed my camera and got a few shots. I cropped this one slightly and changed the temperature a bit.

"Now Let Me Show You the Shape of My Heart."

"Lookin' back on the things I've done, I was tryin' to be someone."

------------

Yeah, I know. Another picture of Titan! I just can't help myself; he's too photogenic. Yet another light editing, nothing too serious though. I like the composition of this photo... alot!

"I Should've Been a Cowboy..."

"I should have learned to rope and ride."

---------

Got this one of my little brother, Russel and the pup Titan! Turned out nice. I like the colors in this one. Nice and natural. Some contrast editing.

"I Know That You Are Something Special."

"Do you see things the way I do?"

-----------

I got this shot during a photo shoot with my mom and her handsome horsey Zanzibar! Little light editing on this one, a tad of clarity. Turned out nice!

"I'll Be Home For Christmas."

"You can count on me..."

----------

Aw, it's little Titan again! Caught him as he was just about to pounce away. Definitely some clarity and contrast editing here. I didn't have my flash up when I took the picture, so originally it was very dark. But no longer!

"Trying to Find a Place in this World..."

"I'll be strong. I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on."

----------

This is another portrait I've done of Kayleena. Changed the color to sepia; just couldn't stand the winter blue! Not one of my best photos, but I like it alright.

"Don't You Know You're Beautiful?"

"Hey, little girl with your tangled hair..."

----------

This is a portrait I did during a photo shoot with my little sister and her pony. I think the two of them look like they're up to something. Edited the saturation here to make the photo black and white.

"You Gotta Keep Your Head Up."

"You are gonna turn out fine. Oh, you'll turn out fine."

----------

Blue skies! Woot woot! Haven't seen those in forever! Had to document it. Edited the clarity on this one just a tad. :)

"The Days Were Slipping By."

"Summer turned to winter and the snow, it turned to rain."

------------

Not sure why I like this shot, but I do. It feels a little sad, but I kinda like it. Little bit of light editing on this, not much.

"Ain't no Mountain High..."

"Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough, baby."

---------

This picture I took off the top deck. Great view, huh? I love how the sun looks on the mountains in the mornings. Pretty lucky to be living in such a beautiful place!

"Let it Snow."

"The weather outside is frightful..."

-----------

This handsome little guy is Titan, the newest addition to the family farm. He was a hard one to photograph; didn't want to sit still! But I just happened to catch him at just the right moment and this is what I got. However, my flash wasn't on, so there is some minimal light editing on this one. I do not have Photoshop though, so I'm just using a basic editing system. Works for me!

"It's Christmas, Charlie Brown."

Like the title says, this picture reminds me of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I did edit the temperature on this photo just a little. I'm getting so sick of the winter blues and grays here in Alaska! Summer time will be a welcomed break. I'm ready for some colorful photographs!

"Everybody Needs Inspiration."

"Cause there's no guarantee that this life is easy."

-------------

This picture is of a little tree sitting next to the horse pasture. Even in the winter, missing most of it's leaves, I think it's pretty in it's own unique way.

"And when I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the Creator." - Gandhi

"Falling Leaves."

"Wherever you are, whenever it's right, you'll come out of nowhere and into my life."

-----------

Have you ever noticed how pretty musical notes are, on paper, that is? I have. This piece of music is for the piano, which I do happen to play, and I thought it looked nice with the fallen leaves. These types of photos are my very favorite to take. They can be interpreted however you like.

"The Kind of Flawless I Wish I Could Be."

"The only one who's got enough of me to break my heart."

---------

Okay, to be honest, I don't play guitar. Never have and probably never will. But I've got one and it makes an intriguing subject. Those who are talented enough to know their way around a guitar, be grateful because it's a talent I am envious of! They are gorgeous instruments, but a little bit tricky to photograph I noticed. Definitely a challenge I hope to overcome with practice.

"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas..."

"May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white."

------------

Seeing as it is December, I'm kind of in the Christmas mood and this picture seemed to fit it nicely. Also experimenting with a wide aperture, I was able to get the gradual fading effect I was hoping for. The perfect photo is always hiding in the cleverest of places and a photographer always knows just where to look! :)

"All the Pretty Little Ponies..."

"Blacks and bays, dapples and grays, running in the night."

---------

My favorite thing about photographing animals, especially horses, is their eyes. It doesn't matter whether or not your back ground is elaborate; those big brown eyes hold all of the expression.

"I'm Not Gonna Write You a Love Song."

"I'll walk the seven seas when I believe that there's a reason to write you a love song today."

--------------

This photograph is one I took earlier this summer during a photo shoot with one of my very best friends. It's a favorite of mine, not necessarily because of it's artistic value, but because it is so happy and carefree. That's why I paired it with one of my favorite songs by Sarah Bareilles; "Love Song".

"God hath not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of the Lord." - 2nd Timothy 1:7-8

"It's the Little Things..."

"Don't leave me hangin' on."

-------------------

I guess I should tell you a little bit more about myself, starting with my photography. I consider all of the things I photograph beautiful, but sometimes it can be hard to see why. Take the picture above for example. But, photography is a passion, definitely one of mine, and an art. If at first glance you don't see what I saw in a photograph, look a little closer. And don't forget to appreciate the little things.

"Home..."

"Another summer day has come and gone away..."
